Lot of people
Are in for a rude awakening when I’m cleared to train again. Hitting the gym for cardio, watching footage, getting inspired and chomping at the bit.

Gym
Starting tomorrow I’m allowed to go do cardio (stationary bike) and left with my legs. Plan is to walk from my house to LVAC every day, ride the bike for an hour or two, every other day (leg press, leg curls, calves, and weightless squats), then walk back. Goal is to lose minimum 5lbs each week until I’m in therapy and working towards use of my arm again.
Ugh
Now I know why they said day two would be worse. The nerve block wore off and I’m not feeling good at all. I just wish I could sleep.
Update
Surgery went well and I am actually feeling much better than I expected. Not sure if the pain meds just havent worn off, but I am not hurting nearly as much as expected.
Hang out offer is still there, come by or call any time if you want to hang out.
T-Minus 7 hours
Til I’m living my life under the knife. In all seriousness, going to be bored out of my mind. If you want to come hang out, hit up the cell. I’ll be laying around on the couch reading, watching movies, and promise I’ll provide you with entertainment if you catch me while on meds.
Dear work:
Your timing is un-fucking believable.

Friends: Read and repost for me please
On Friday 3/23, I took my car to Meineke (1860 E Serene Ave, Las Vegas, NV (702) 740-0558, owned as a Franchise by Frank Lee) to have my brakes looked at. There was some squeaking when I was braking, so I figured I’d get them checked out just to be safe. The techs at Meineke took all 4 wheels off of 2005 VW Jetta GLI, told me that there was no safety issues with the brakes and proceeded to...
Update
Nerve testing being done due to the cyst in my shoulder. The cyst sits right on top of the nerve that controls the muscles in/around the rotater cuff. If they shave too far, I lose all muscles in my shoulder/arm. No training for at least the next 4-6 months (if there is no permanent nerve damage yet).
Shoulder is fucked
Torn labrum, probable slight tear to the rotator cuff, AC Join Impingement, Cyst. All of which equates to a surgery that will best case scenario leave me with 6-8 weeks of limited to no use, worst case a lot longer with no use.
Meh
Start physical therapy tomorrow to strengthen the muscles and stuff around my shoulder. I’m told this will help cut down my rehab time post surgery, so hopefully I won’t be out that long. Still waiting to get my MRI done.

Some Good, Some Bad
In the midst of all the stupid shit of the last few days, I did get some good news. Had my MRI on my wrist yesterday and either a) the break healed in the 3 weeks between x-ray and MRI or b) they misdiagnosed it. I have to go get it looked to see if I have carpal tunnel now though, which means surgery if I do.

Meh
Not a great day. Had to go to the doctor’s for my wrist and they think I have a stress fracture in my wrist. In a brace, have to get an MRI, etc.
Get home from the Doc’s and find Wrigley covered in blood with holes in neck. Apparently the dogs got in a fight over their crates or something, and Wrigley lost.

Dear Fast Food
Our love affair is over. Anywhere with a drive-thru is now relegated solely to cheat days or road trips and such. First week back of training was a wake up call to say the least, but it was also motivating as hell. Kru Mark got me sparring more in the last week than I have in the last 6 months easy.
Tomorrow I start lifting to tone in addition to my regular training. Goal is to be ready to...
Now that shit is under control
Back to the gym on Monday. Weight to lose, diet to adhere to, goals to accomplish.

Plans for 2012
Since I recently had a ton of time to start thinking and getting my priorities straight, I thought I would get to work on goals for 2012. In no particular order:
Compete for both the Pan Am and World Titles in Gi and/or No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Compete for a title in either MMA or Muay Thai (both would be preferable)
Prove to Mark Beecher (and more importantly to myself) that I am serious about the...

Finally
Closing on the house tomorrow, will have keys either tomorrow afternoon or Monday.
Week and a half til World's
And I’m feeling more ready than ever. Little bit heavier than I’d like to be, but adjustments have been made and I’ll be on weight.
10 people in my division…they don’t know what’s coming to them.
Registered for world's
Despite a very bad fucking day, registered for World’s. 188.5lb men’s blue belt division….34lbs to go. 1.45lbs per day in loss (without cutting any water weight) and I hit that…cut a couple lbs of water to account for clothing and I’m golden.

Camp
Still feel weak as a pup, but I forced myself through conditioning and then jits. My body be damned, I will be ready for World’s.
Meh
So my first day of my World’s camp was spent sleeping and feeling like I had no energy. I did lose a bit of weight, but didn’t get any actual training done. Feel mildly better today, so going to hit up strength & conditioning then have work tonight. I need to start feeling better asap.
Ugh...
Who gets a sinus infection, bronchitis, laryngitis, a cold, and strep all at the same time? This guy….
Naga
Ended up taking 4th place.
First match I tapped when the guy swept me and dropped an elbow into my nose and then just held me. Couldn’t breath and thought it might have broken.
Second match I had the guy in a heel hook but he broke free, passed to side control and monson choked me.
This is my last time competing at 200lbs or higher. The guys are just too big. Felt like I was getting...
Meh
For the first time, I failed to make weight. Not sure if it was because I started tapering my water off to soon, or what, but it was the worst weight cut I’ve ever had. Started at 214 with the goal of getting to 199.9 (or lower if it went easy), weighed in at 202 with nothing left in me. I was barely standing, dizzy, and was doing everything I can not to puke. 15lbs might have been a bit...

That’s right. Jason is the man. Hard working, humble, skilled, and driven. Man has his priorities locked down and his head on straight. It’s people like him, Mark Beecher, Cameron Diffley, Norm Turner, Michael “The Caveman” Madison, Tyler “The Ladybug” Rodgers, and the Legion...

Update
Still very much on track for NAGA. Work tomorrow is going to be long (6pm to probably 6am) so no training…that means today I cram in conditioning, bjj, and thai. Long night.
Hate to say it...
But Forest’s stand up hasn’t looked the same since he quit training with Beecher.
Tournaments and training
Working hard for some upcoming events. I started the week at 230 and was 221.4 this morning. I’m well ahead of my time table to make the low 200s in time to cut weight. My plan is to do NAGA on the 10th at 189.9lbs in the men’s intermediate division. The week after, is Quest for the Best here in Las Vegas. Shooting for 179.9, may work and try to do 169.9 since I can weigh in two days...

My day and a half of being fat are over. I enjoyed my sushi and wings, my last soda is being finished as I write this, and it’s time to push on. September 10th is Naga, goal is to be grappling at 179.9lbs (though if I can get to 169.9 that’s even better). Looking forward from there, I want to do a MMA fight or two before the year is over, so stay tuned for updates on October/November...

Ugh
Weight drop is going well. Averaging 1-2 pounds a day right now.
Did a Bikram Yoga class today and it kicked my ass BIG TIME. Came home, showered, passed out for an hour and did some Muay Thai. Tomorrow I wake up and do most of it again.
New schedule is looking like this:
Monday: Yoga, Conditioning (if I can), Muay Thai
Tuesday: Strength & Conditioning, Jits, Swimming
Wednesday:...
Living Large
Just registered for the IBJJF’s Las Vegas Open tournament August 13th. I’ll be doing blue belt gi at 207.5lbs. If you are in Vegas, come out and support all the guys From Legion/Throwdown and Drysdale as we fight. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps me to get ready for this camp including but not limited to Cameron Diffley, Mark Beecher, Norm Turner, and others.

So yeah
Been a bit since I updated. Work, general laziness, and other factors have been keeping me from doing so. This is a decent one though. Started the week at 241.7lbs, this is me at 231.2lbs. Goal for next week is 224.

Yep
No weekly weightloss update or photo. I honestly didn’t lose or gain an pound, and I am sick, so deal with it.
Holy shit...watch this.

Lived there a long time and didn’t know this shit was going on. Carl may or may not be in this video.
Update
Once again, fell a little short on the goal. I did have some weight loss, but didn’t get the full 7 pounds. Goal for this coming week is 230. This is me at 235.
Yep
Strength and conditioning with Norm, Jits with Cameron, then work til 5am….I get the feeling tonight is gonna be a long, sleepy night.
Meh
Well due to work, lack of regular sleep schedule, and other various factors including laziness on my part, last week was basically a wash. I neither gained nor lost any weight due to discipline on my diet but missing the gym. So my goal for Sunday morning is again 233 pounds.
Having just finished the gym for the day, I am confident I will achieve it this week. I will also be posting weekly...

Update
I fell 2 pounds short of my goal, for a total loss of 6 pounds this week. All in all not bad considering.
Goal for next sunday is 232, 8 pounds of loss.
Since I've seen this on a lot of sites....
There is no such thing as a “baby bella” mushroom. You are paying more money for an undersized/immature Portobello mushroom. It’s nothing more than a clever marketing scheme.
Also 3 pounds lost, 5 to go for the week.
Weekly goal
Started the week at 246lbs, by Sunday morning, I want to be 238lbs. 8 pound loss for the week.
Strength & conditioning and jits tonight wore me out. Dealing with house stuff tomorrow during the day, then more strength & conditioning, jits and work.
Meh
Reading past updates makes me feel like a lazy piece of shit. So many times I’ve said “I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do that. This is the time” and honestly I’m done talking.
Back to the gym today. Do work.
